Where may I ride an Electric Bicycle?
The legality of riding an electric bike varies by jurisdiction. In the United States true category 1 and 2 E-bikes are classified as bicycles and can be ridden on most bike paths and most roads, usually they are not allowed on freeways.  However, some areas may have restrictions on where e-bikes can be ridden or may require riders to have a special license or permit.  See Types of Ebikes for more information.
